Serving Buyers and Sellers in Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire
|
Lawrence, long know as the "Immigrant City" is located in Essex County near the New Hampshire state line. The Merrimack River divides the city in two. Many of the Mill buildings located along the river have been renovated over the past decade. Some of the mills continue to be used as manufacturing facilities while others have been converted into office buildings and residential condominiums. The downtown area is home to many shops & restaurants. The city recently constructed a new High School which is located in South Lawrence. Lawrence continues to attract first time buyers and buyers if low to moderate incomes. A large portion of the residential properties in the city are 2-4 unit multi-family dwellings. Rental demand remains high, and these types of properties continue to attract investors to the city. There are also plenty of single family and condominium housing options within the city. The Merrimack Valley Transit Authority provides fixed route bus service throughout the city. Commuter rail service to downtown Boston is available in South Lawrence.
Some areas of the city have been hit hard by the recent rise in foreclosures in the state. This has led to many bank owned properties and there are plenty of "good buys" within the city.
